1. Educational Mission

We fully implement the Party's educational principles, uphold the socialist orientation in education, and fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. With a focus on undergraduate education, we are committed to cultivating high-quality, application-oriented talents who meet the needs of regional economic and social development, possessing scientific literacy, a strong sense of patriotism, and an innovative spirit. By establishing a training system characterized by the "complementarity of liberal arts and engineering, the intersection of economics and management, diverse perspectives, and cross-disciplinary integration," we deepen the integration of industry and education and continuously advance the development of "New Liberal Arts." This approach provides students with solid professional knowledge and practical capabilities, enabling them to effectively serve local economic development and demonstrate strong social adaptability and sustainable development potential in their future careers.

2. Vision

We are dedicated to building a first-class Faculty of economics and management that is distinctive, highly competitive, and widely recognized by students, parents, and society among private universities in Henan Province. By continuously deepening the "New Liberal Arts" initiative, promoting the digital transformation and upgrading of disciplines and programs, and building a high-caliber, "dual-qualified" teaching team alongside industry-academia-research platforms, we aim to become a highland for cultivating application-oriented talents. We will significantly enhance students' comprehensive qualities, deeply serve regional economic and social development, and establish a notable influence in fields such as the digital economy, digital finance, and digital trade.

4. Historical Evolution

The Faculty of Finance and Trade boasts a long history of education. Its origins can be traced back to the Department of International Trade established in 1994 (which housed the undergraduate program in International Economics and Trade). In 2001, the Finance major was added, followed by the Economics major in 2009, and the Financial Technology major in 2022. The Faculty of Finance and Trade was officially formed in 2017. Currently, it offers four undergraduate programs: Finance, Financial Technology, International Economics and Trade, and Economics; as well as two junior college (associate degree) programs: International Economics and Trade, and Business Data Analysis and Application.

5. Academic Characteristics

Guided by the development of the "New Liberal Arts" and proactively responding to the regional demand for a digital economy, we have formed a distinct characteristic centered on "Economics + Digitalization." By systematically restructuring the curriculum and adding cutting-edge courses, we have transformed existing majors such as Finance, International Economics and Trade, and Economics around the digital economy industrial chain. This has allowed us to create a professional cluster for the digital economy, focusing on digital finance, digital trade, and data mining, thereby advancing the interdisciplinary integration of academic programs. Simultaneously, we have strengthened a multi-tiered, progressive practical teaching system encompassing "experiments, training, internships, and innovation and entrepreneurship training." By offering a rich array of practical courses, we have established a training model characterized by the "complementarity of liberal arts and engineering, the intersection of economics and management, diverse perspectives, and cross-disciplinary integration." Our goal is to cultivate high-quality, application-oriented economic and trade talents equipped with patriotism, scientific literacy, an innovative spirit, and outstanding data application capabilities.

6. Educational Achievements

Since 2020, the Faculty has been approved for 2 Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Program Development Sites (International Economics and Trade, Finance); 1 National First-Class Undergraduate Course; 7 Provincial First-Class Core Undergraduate Courses; 2 Provincial Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Projects; 1 Provincial Off-Campus Practical Teaching Base for Undergraduate Students; 2 Provincial Outstanding Grassroots Teaching Organizations; and 1 Municipal Outstanding Teaching Team. Additionally, 10 Industry-University Collaborative Education Projects were approved by the Ministry of Education. Faculty members have won 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 10 third prizes in national competitions such as the National Digital Intelligence Business Decision-Making Innovation Competition (Faculty Group) and the National Economics and Management Experimental Teaching Case Competition. Building on this, 14 cases have been transformed into experimental teaching cases, 2 of which were selected for the China Economics and Management Experimental Teaching Case Library.

Over the past three years, the Faculty has undertaken 10 national and provincial-level projects, 87 departmental-level projects, and 52 horizontal projects. It has published 120 papers and 11 textbooks/monographs, with research funding totaling 1.31 million RMB. Finance is recognized as a Provincial Key Discipline (7th and 8th batches), and Regional Economics is a Provincial Key Discipline (9th batch). Cross-border E-commerce Finance is recognized as a Zhengzhou Municipal Teaching Skills Master Studio.

In the past three years, undergraduates have received 157 provincial-level honors (such as Provincial Outstanding Graduates and Provincial Merit Students) and 58 municipal-level honors (such as Municipal Outstanding Student Leaders). They have won 220 awards in provincial-level or above academic/professional competitions and 64 awards in non-academic competitions at the provincial level or above. There are 5 Provincial Outstanding Bachelor's Theses and 5 papers published by undergraduates. In 2025, students won a total of 382 awards in various discipline-specific competitions.
